All of the time I get that dreaded question, “What do I wear for our photography session?” Followed by the deer in the headlights look in their eyes. It’s ok….just breathe! Dressing up for a session is A LOT of fun and gives you a chance to really work with new outfits or put together outfits you already own. Matchy Matchy is way out. My OCD though does like to see coordinating colors of course, but the days of everyone showing up wearing the same color tops and bottoms are outta here! If you like the same colors, then try and throw in a few pops of bright colors, pink head bands, or a bright scarf!(Ignore the old logo on some of these pictures, they are all property of Laura Elizabeths Photography)
Even mixing and matching patterns is very adorable! I’ve seen stripes with polka dots or polka dots and plaids together and it looks great! But having the right amount of patterns verses solids is always most pleasing for the eye. And again, matching headbands, ties, scarfs etc go a long way!
Check out this blog that I recently came across! A LOT of great advice to help you pick out your families wardrobe for your perfect day!
This couple really did a great job on coordinating certain colors for their pictures! You can tell she loves fashion!
Pinterest is a HUGE help when looking for that “PERFECT” outfit! You can take a look at my Inspiration board for great outfits to wear for your session here.
And of course, feel free to ask your photographer. She/he normally has a pretty good eye for color schemes and what works and does not work. My number one advice normally is, do not pick shirts that have a lot of wording on them or brand names. It is very distracting to the eye and unfortunately, it will not help your pictures look that professional!
